About Us

Our Story

One in 10 women and girls around the world suffer from endometriosis (“endo”), a chronic, often debilitating disease that occurs when tissue similar to the tissue lining the uterus – the endometrium – grows in other areas of the body.

I am one of the one in 10.

From the time I was 11, excruciating pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and overwhelming fatigue led to days out of school and time off work, missed sports practices and games, and hours in bed and away from family and friends.

Six surgeries later, I continue to fight chronic pelvic pain, fatigue, and more.

Through it all, I’ve turned to baseball as a way to keep my spirits up.

In July 2024, on the day before a surgery to remove endometriosis lesions from my sacral nerve roots, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game distracted from my anxieties, and in the weeks that followed, sorting through the baseball cards I’d collected in my childhood kept a smile on my face.

An idea was soon born: what if we could harness a love of baseball and put the power of the game toward making the world better for women and girls with this disease? Time and again, we’ve seen how sports have made an impact in our world. Fans after all are passionate people.

Together with my wife Jessie, we launched Strike Endo Out to bring the conversation about endometriosis to new audiences and crush the stigma about women’s health that breeds silence and contributes to lengthy diagnosis delays and failed treatment options.

We want the fans in the stands – the parents, the school nurses, the pediatricians, the youth sports coaches – to recognize the symptoms and get girls help early in their endo journeys.

We’re ready to toe the mound against endometriosis. We hope you’ll learn more about our work and join the team to strike endo out.

Our Work

It starts with awareness.

We want to bring knowledge and understanding about endometriosis into communities. Through lifting up the stories of those living with endometriosis and their families, we help to end the stigma around the disease.

Our champions carry the conversation forward.

As ambassadors of awareness, we equip our champions with knowledge they need to spread the word about endo at ballparks across the country – and globe! From players to coaches to fans, there’s a spot for everyone on our team.

Awareness drives action.

To truly change the game for women and girls with endo, we need innovative medical research and more education for healthcare providers. The money we raise will go toward the work doctors are doing to find better treatments, to identify easier ways to diagnosis the disease, and to improve patient outcomes. We’ll also support efforts to make sure frontline healthcare workers know the symptoms and improve care.
